Commissioner funds more speed limit signs to prevent Northamptonshire residents from harm

Dear Resident

Funding for electronic speed limit signs has been awarded to more areas across the county, including Loddington.

It comes as part of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Danielle Stone’s pledge to enhance road safety.

The signs make drivers aware when they are exceeding the speed limit and aim to slow them down.

The money was awarded by Danielle Stone’s Road Safety Community Fund, in partnership with Northants Safer Roads Alliance, which supports initiatives that contribute towards her road safety priorities.

People across the county have told Danielle they don’t always feel safe on our roads.

Through her Big Conversation survey, she knows how important clamping down on poor driving standards and speeding is to communities like yours.

This is why applicants can use the money to not only fund programmes that support speed reduction but also improve road safety near school gates and stop anti-social road use.

Local community groups or schools can apply for grants between £500 and £5,000 to improve road safety where they live.

To apply, see our website or email funding@northantspfcc.gov.uk for more information.
